First ‘The Acolyte’ Trailer Revealed!

The countdown to the June 4th premiere of The Acolyte, the upcoming Disney+ series from Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland is officially on! The first trailer for the series (not counting the one screened exclusively for Star Wars Celebration audiences last year) dropped online today. Check it out below,

Lucasfilm also revealed the official synopsis for the series, which you can read below,

In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….

The trailer gives us our first looks at the characters Mae (Amandla Stenberg), Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), Jedi Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss), Master Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo), Jedi Knight Yord (Charlie Bennet), Padawan Jecki (Daphne Keen), Qimir (Manny Jacinto), and Mother Aniseya (Jodie Turner-Smith).

Headland also directed the premiere episodes (episodes 101 and 102). Directors Kogonada (episodes 103 and 107), Alex Garcia Lopez (episodes 104 and 105), and Hanelle Culpepper (episodes 106 and 108) round out the directing duties on the series. Michael Abels, known for his work on Get Out and Us, scored The Acolyte.
